TMJ Implants, Inc. Skel-a-Girl Animation
3D Computer
graphics can be used for a wide variety of imagery. Here is one which
is both factual and fun. Pixel Kitchen was approached by TMJ Implants
to work over the course of last year, to produce a variety of imagery
to meet their communications needs, as they ramped up for their informational/marketing
campaign. The project
called for the aquisition of a female skeletal 3D model as well as the
creation of the actual implant parts and realistic eyeballs. Animation
included an assembly sequence for the full jaw implant. Further animation
included the visualization of the movement of the implants under normal
motion.
The second part
of the project included all the fun as we were commissioned to create
an articulated skeleton that could be animated out of a transition from
the live action actress. Our preproduction included location visits prior
to and during the shoot. Video production and post-production was handled
by Colorado Production Group producer Kimberly Allen. The other key person
in the productions was TMJ Implant's marketing director Carrie Britton.
Our collective vision was to create an informational video which could
be delivered on VHS or CDROM as well as their over their website. The
goal was to market and inform the patient and the doctor of their tried
and true products for jaw joint replacement.
